In the 1990s he received musical training in classical music, jazz, and free improvisation at the music academies in Basel and Lucerne.

Currently, he works as a freelance bassist in a wide variety of ensembles and styles, also in conjunction with other art forms (e.g., video, acting, silent film). He has produced CDs and DVDs with the basel sinfonietta, the BAJA-Quartett & Âme Sèche, as well as audiobooks ‚Einzigartig Schiller‘ and ‚Samuel Beckett‘.
